Dvardala is a premium axe, perfect for hunting and wilderness living. It represents a combination of several different types of axes, ideal for a day spent in nature, where you can face various challenges.
It has the same head as the Hultafors Åby axe, but the handle is shorter – 440 mm long – making it more practical to carry, for example, in a backpack. The shorter handle also makes it easier to work with the axe close to the user’s body.
The axe is suitable for precise tasks such as carving, making shelters, fire stands, and other camping activities. This is thanks to the well-shaped finger notch and the semi-straight blade with a wide and flat grind. The notch allows you to grip the axe head and control it with maximum precision.
The blade is semi-straight, with flatter sides that allow the axe to lie stably on the wood while cutting along the wood fibers. However, it is curved enough to be used for lighter forest work such as clearing a path or fire. The axe head is slightly thicker in the cheek area, which gives it good wood-splitting abilities – it is also ideal for cutting firewood.
Dvardala is a gift that every hunter will appreciate, and of course, it can also be used for processing hunted game in the field. The axe is hand-forged in the Hults Bruk forge, in accordance with a tradition dating back to 1697. The axe head has a nominal weight of 0.7 kg and is made of Swedish steel with neutral CO₂ emissions.
The semi-straight blade has a Scandinavian type of grind, is polished, razor-sharp, and ready for use. The axe has a curved, narrow handle with a pronounced end knob for a more secure grip. The sheath is made in Sweden from Swedish cowhide leather, with maximum care for animals and environmental protection.
It is a vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, which provides exceptional durability, and natural processing ensures graceful aging of the material and a patina finish.
The axe is named after Dvardala, the old name for the forest area north of Hults Bruk. This is where the Kolmården forest begins, and from Borgar Mountain in the Dvardala region, there is a fantastic view of the landscape known for excellent hunting of game and wild boar.
Take care of your axe and it will be a loyal companion for many years. We are proud of the craftsmanship and quality of our axes, and we give you a lifetime warranty on the axe head.
